The 2017 Annual Meeting of the British Society for Geomorphology is rapidly approaching. This year’s meeting will be held in Hull, the UK City of Culture for 2017, 4th to 6th September, 2017. The deadline for abstracts has been extended to Friday 7th July 2017.


The Evolution of Flooding and Flood Risk: Past, Present and Future

14-15th September 2017 – The Geological Society, Burlington House, London

This is event held by The Geological Society “aims to bring together both academic researchers and practitioners, will explore how flood risk is not a static entity but an evolving feature of these systems.”

The Environment Agency are running a workshop aimed at PhD students and ECRs on helping to ensure their research has a direct impact on the achievement of Good Ecological Status. Register here.


We have renewed our partnership with the Flood Expo. The Society will have a speaker at the Expo (TBC) who will promote the work of the Society.

“The Flood Expo is the world’s largest exhibition and conference designed to help the most progressive flood professionals and property owners discover the latest innovative products, services and strategies that transform the way flooding is predicted, prevented, and managed”

The Flood Expo takes place at ExCeL London on 27th and 28th September 2017. Tickets are free, and can be ordered from the website.
